Political Prisoners In The US Prison System – Leonard Peltier

There are political prisoners in the US prison system. In this video we explore one of those political prisoners. A leader of the American Indian Movement, Leonard Peltier is serving two consecutive life sentences in federal prison for “aiding and abetting” in the deaths of two FBI agents. The highly controversial case has received great international interest, including human rights tribunals and Amnesty International, because of allegations of judicial and FBI misconduct: threatening witnesses, producing false evidence, perjury and withholding evidence. We present an interview with Peltier’s cousin, Steve Robideau, who relates the specifics about Peltier’s case as well as some of the other struggles of Native Americans today. Robideau also presents fascinating insights into Native American philosophy and values. LEONARD PELTIER: AN AMERICAN POLITICAL PRISONER (1982) http://tinyurl.com/6jzhaag
